Big Brothers

On April 17,1999, the West Chester based Shaolin Kuntao school performed a demonstration for Big Brothers and Sisters of Philadelphia. The event was their annual charity ball. Every year is a different theme. This years theme was Asia. It was a very nice black tie event. We went on right after Mayor Rendell's speech. We demonstrated a number of self defenses and forms. The participants in the events were Sifu Ken Doyle, Sifu Bob McCloskey, Sifu Chuck Archer, Sifu Jeff Addison, Ben Gaspar and Frank Stanzione. Sifu Doyle performed empty hand and cane self defense, Sifu McCloskey performed a briefcase self defense, Sifu Chuck performer chop stick self defense, Sifu Jeff did knife self defense and Ben and Frank performed empty hand techniques. We mixed in some forms between the self defense techniques. The crowd seemed to love watching us perform our kung fu style.
